LAY LOW  written & performed by Gamble & Burke

Under pressure to get things right
That kinda stress I don't need tonight
Lookin for somethin to make me forget,
maybe a chance to regret, I don't know what to expect.
(It's alright)
It's alright you're gonna have those days
Sometimes you gotta plan a getaway
[prechorus:]
I gotta go easy. This scene has been killin me!

[CHORUS]
Been working hard I need a place to LAY LOW
I'm looking for a spot that nobody knows
Out on the street there's too much heat
I need a place to LAY LOW

Gettin down to somethin new tonight
let my guard down, noone here to fight
Steppin cross the line where rules can be bent
this is a special event, givin 100 percent
(It feels great)
It feels great I gotta find a way
to make this last forever, if I had my say
[prechorus:]
I'd always be easy. Layin' Low and feelin free!!

[CHORUS]

He's going deep to get loose. Don't need no excuse.
He needs a break from the heat. Gonna keep it discreet.
I gotta follow that feeling, without being revealing.
See it's nobody's business but my own
So just leave me alone, cuz I...

[CHORUS]

Eddie Murphy to host the Oscars?! Original G & B LAY LOW Video!!!!!!!!!

Well, Eddie Murphy has emerged as the frontrunner to host next year's Academy Awards ceremony.

Producer Brett Ratner is due to present his pick for host to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences next week, and is expected to select Murphy as his top choice! According to sources, Ratner has been obsessed with Eddie Murphy, to host the Academy Awards 2012, since he has been given the job of the event producer.

While no deal with Murphy is in place as of yet, the Beverly Hills Cop star is "showing interest" in hosting the prestigious event.

Murphy recently worked with Ratner on the director's upcoming action comedy Tower Heist, which bears some exciting resemblances to one of our top 5 favorite movies of all time: 48 HRS!!! Rich/powerful white guy gets Eddie Murphy out of jail to help him commit crimes! Sketchy but hilarious!

James Franco and Anne Hathaway hosted the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony earlier this year, to a mostly negative reception.

Anyway, an official announcement regarding the host for next year's Oscars ceremony is expected later this month. Please let it be Eddie!

There have also been rumors of a Ratner-produced Beverly Hills Cop 4!!!! Maybe this time our song "Lay Low", written for the original Beverly Hills Cop, will reclaim it's destiny!!

EXCLUSIVE:  Our original video for LAY LOW is here! Check it out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gamble & Burke’s Top 5 Favorite Places to Lay Low in Worcester

Kaz and I believe 'laying low' is when you need a break from not only the stress of work and responsibility towards others in your life, but also a chance to drop off the map completely and not even have to run into anyone you know! A real getaway. A break from the heat on the streets. Like a reverse Cheers! --"sometimes you wanna go where nobody knows your name..."

So, here are some places in the Worcester area where we like to go for laying low:

5. Citizen ---a classy joint--almost too classy, but they are just the best cocktails in the city, hands down. also, this is a spot where you're definitely bound to run into somebody you know, which is why its kinda far down the list. But it's a hot spot. Chill bartenders too.

4. Ho Toy ---The epitome of laying low is when a place don't even have any windows on it. This large  chinese restaurant makes strong, delicious mai tai's. Takes me away to a palm tree shaded beachscape  everytime. You probably wont run into anyone you know, which is how you like it when you're laying low.

3. 15 Castle St. ---this is an unofficial address. It's kinda like that trainline in Harry Potter that takes them to the magic castle. You need special knowledge to get there. Call the hotline at the bottom of this post if you wanna lay low there.

2. An Cu Liath/the Greyhound ---this neat little Irish pub lay low spot is right in Kelley Sq., though, most people I mention it to don't even know what I'm talking about. It has a traditional Celtic name that can be confusing. Although, they just changed their sign to the english translation, The Greyhound, which might be better for business, but it just lost a little of it's lay lowness. O well.

1. The Crescent Cafe ---Awesome sign out front of this joint on sleepy/shady Canterbury St. Charles, who  runs this spot is the shit, and they got a great jukebox and pool table. They often serve a variety of delicious soul food and burgers. They also have killer poetry nights! No windows, cheap drinks, discreet location, chill owner. You will not run into anyone here. Word.

Let us know your favorite places to lay low friends!!! Unless you wanna keep that on the down low, in which case, I completely understand.

1(708) LAY-LOW2 that's 1(708) 529-5692.

The Moog Liberation!

The Moog Liberation was the first commercially-produced keytar synthesizer released in 1980 by Moog Music. The Liberation was designed to be played in the same posture as one would play a guitar. One can set it down on a surface of some kind and play it like an old-fashioned keyboard too though, and you can sit down or stand up while you play it, just like one would regularly play another traditional keyboard or pianos. However, playing it standing up and strapped on like a guitar is the coolest way to go.

The Liberation featured two monophonic VCOs and a polyphonic section that could play organ sounds. Both oscillators could be set to triangle, sawtooth, or square waveforms and switched over a 3-octave range. The Liberation's keyboard was aftertouch-sensitive and on its neck featured spring-loaded wheels for filter cutoff, modulation, and volume as well as a ribbon-controlled pitch bend. The Liberation had a single VCF and two ADS envelope generators. A 4,000-foot cable* could connect the Liberation to its rackmounted half which housed the power supply and CV/Gate output sockets, which is great if you want to play it out in a field at a music festival. If you're looking to perform with a cheap (by Moog standards) analog synth strapped on like a guitar then the Liberation should be right up your alley. Otherwise there's always the Prodigy, a long time staple of electronic musicians.

Jean Michel Jarre plays a Liberation on his DVD release of Oxygene Live In Your Living Room.

The triangle of light you see in this video, appears around the player when playing the Moog Liberation!

The Human League used the Liberation during the songs Empire State Human, Being Boiled and Circus Of Death at the Wickerman Festival in July 2009. These are all great song titles.

The Liberation has also been used by 808 State, Apollo 440, (also, 220 Below, Godhead 5000 & 35 Elders) Herbie Hancock, Joy Electric, Devo, Kool & The Gang, Six Finger Satellite (another awesome bandname), Stereolab, Spiral-Shaped Mind and Page McConnell of Phish.

"I listen to Moog Liberation. It is great fun for me." ---Andaz from vintagesynth.com

"My son showed this to me and I think it is the coolest thing since I saw Keith Emerson play the theramin on his body in 1973!" ---Jody

note: The one downside of the Moog Liberation is it's fucking heavy!

                                                                 Here's a rare white Liberation!

Gamble & Burke's 5 favorite movies of all time!!

5. TRADING PLACES Kaz loves Trading Places! It features Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd in their hilarious, youthful prime. Jamie Lee Curtis also contributes foxiness, which we love. Also, the Rags to Riches theme is inspiring to us. The expression on Eddie's face right here pretty much says it all.

4. BEVERLY HILLS COP 2 A worthy, second installment of the beloved 80's comedy/action film features Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) back in Beverly Hills with Rosewood and Taggart, investigating a series of "alphabet crimes". This time Brigitte Nielson's involved!

3. COMING TO AMERICA This amazing movie features Mr. Murphy at the peak of his power playing everything from the Prince of Zamunda to Brooklyn Jew, Saul, to this crazy man pictured, Randy Watson. This is my (Burke) favorite movie of all time! Arsenio Hall is also at the peak of his power here.

2. 48 HRS. This gritty cop duo movie displayed Eddie Murphy's prowess as a lead role dramatic actor as well as his usual technically flawless comedic timing. Definitely kinda stole the show here from Mr. Nick Nolte. 48 Hours also features some unsettling racial and gender dynamics indicative of the pre-politically correct 80's. Again, this picture says alot. Damn, Jack!

1. BEVERLY HILLS COP Finally, we have our favorite movie ever created! Everything is perfect. Eddie, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton and foxy Lisa Eillbacher all act their asses off in this hilarious comedy/action/cops/drugs/romance/historical fiction/drama/thriller/comedy/mystery-drug movie. There's banana's going into mufflers, there's guys getting thrown into buffet's and of course, shootouts and strippers! Case closed, folks!!!

The just released 2K Sports tennis video game TOP SPIN 4 features the Gamble & Burke song "Isolated (With You)" and joins a really cool soundtrack which has music from Daft Punk, OK Go, LCD Soundsystem, Chromeo, & other really cool artist that we dig like Schpilkas. Gamble & Burke remix Si*Se - The Chain

Si*Se is a group from NYC that Gamble & Burke really enjoy.  We are especially enamored with their vocalist Carol C who is an outstanding singer and a wonderful person.  It was an honor to have her vocals on our production.
